Loved!!!

What a book even better than the first. Addison she is just one of my favorite characters she is so strong and intelligent she truly does give her whole heart. Liam he is not just rich but hot and only wants to be wanted for who he is not what he has. Michelle I know what she's up to. I wanna smack her in the face lol. I love how this story is written and how each book leaves me wanting more, I just hope the next book ends the way I want. I can't wait to dive into Released.

Holy cliffhanger.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first. It was more believable and drama filled. At one point you just feel bad for Liam and Addison that everything keeps getting in their way. Usually it's themselves, but the ending in this one.....just wow.

Not to mention if a Man like Liam flew across the country for me, well I wouldn't have put up a fight like Addison.

Ready for the third!!!

Potential, but so hard to read

Ends on a cliffhanger but I won't be continuing the series. If someone proofread this for the author, they were unkind not to offer real, constructive criticism. The story was often hard to follow due to missing punctuation and using the wrong word. I enjoyed the author's descriptive writing and she has potential as a story teller. Sometimes "god" needs to be capitalized when it is not the first word in a sentence. There were only a few short instances when the plot kept my attention rather than the writing errors.
I usually can look beyond grammar and spelling. The reviews that focus on these errors other than the creative aspects of the romance usually annoy me. This time I have to admit I couldn't see past the problems. I would, however, be willing to give the author's work another try and encourage her to let someone edit.

Every traveler's guide to Asia!

I've been saving up for my Asia trip for over a year now. The trip I have planned is an extensive one. I’m planning to cover Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and Japan. I’m not a newbie traveler but It’s always a good idea to be well informed.

I came across this book while looking for an All- In – One Asia travel guide book. I don’t want to carry loads of different books with me. Aside from it’s physically exhausting, I really don’t have the patience to read through very detailed travel guides. This book is just perfect for me.

The Rough Guide To Asia On A Budget offers a lot of insight about the countries and their cultures. It includes a number of transportation means to fit your budget. I found it to be quite helpful especially when I planned my detailed itinerary. It features the Go—To places and what to do there. I just love how compact it is but still informative. If you’re planning to visit Japan, you might want to grab a copy of Stephen William’s book entitled Tokyo: Helpful Tips To Fully Maximize Your Stay In Japan’s Capital. It covers a lot of historical places that you shouldn't miss out on.

I would recommend this book to those planning to travel Asia by backpack. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get the best experiences out of it. Meeting new people and living like the locals will give you the best travel experiences. Pick this book up; it won’t disappoint.

okay but doesn't warrant a 4

I used it for my 8 month trip in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand and Philippines. It was sketchy at times but a adequate starting guide book. I wouldn't rely on it some countries like Indonesia (Bali & Lombok) but it was comprehensive in Thailand and Singapore. Use it as a rough guide and nothing more - I loved the one written in the Philippines.

Great resource

Was great. This was the only resource I took with me for a 3+ week trip to Southeast Asia. I used it to figure out where I would go after each city and made it much easier to get around. It also was really good at providing with a rough guide for costs so that I didn't feel so unsure about whether I was paying too much for anything.

St. Louis-born Thomas Hornbein has been an avid mountaineer since his early teens, and his climbing adventures range
from Washington and Colorado to Pakistan, Nepal, China, and Africa. He was professor and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine from 1978 to 1993. Today the retired physician lives
with his family in Estes Park, Colorado, and is a scientific adviser for Colorado University's Altitude Research Center. Hornbein
continues to climb on local crags.

A DRAMATIC , EVEREST ADVENTURE DRYLY TOLD...ZZZZZZZ

This is the story of the 1963 American Mount Everest Expedition which made mountaineering history. It saw the first Americans summit Everest via the South Col. It also saw the first climb of Everest by anyone via the West Ridge route, previously believed to be unclimbable.

Not only did Thomas Hornbein and Willi Unsoeld summit Everest via the West Ridge, they traversed the mountain and descended via the South Col route. They were, however, forced to bivouac in the death zone at 28,000 feet without any food, supplemental oxygen, or shelter.

One would think that such a dramatic turn of events high on Everest would be riveting to read. Wrong! Unfortunately, this is the one problem with this book. The story is told in a very dry, dull fashion. It is as if Hornbein were talking about flossing one's teeth rather than about a segment of mountaineering history of which he was an integral part.

Nevertheless, this is a high quality paperback with forty-eight terrific photographs that are sure to delight Everest junkies everywhere. No mountaineering library should be without this book, which recounts with detail one of the most significant climbs in the history of the Himalayas.

A Truly Inspirational Book

I first read this book in the summer of 1969, and it is anything but dry or boring. Hornbein's matter-of-fact narrative does nothing to diminish the drama and the risk inhering in any attempt on Everest, but especially one in which the climbers descend by a route which is completely new to them. Hornbein also worked very hard to select incredibly beautiful photographs and inspirational quotations from some of the most famous mountaineers of all time. These, combined with the narrative of his own personal odyssey on the West Ridge, make this book into a truly inspirational piece of literature. Those who require sensationalism and hyperbole will not like this book, but those who recognize the drama inhering in any "point of no return" decision to continue going on up will see that no hyperbole is required. The narrative of events is compelling, especially if one has ventured into the high mountains and feels their majesty with both awe and respect--and sometimes terror. For some reason this book changed my life, and those who respond to challenges with the desire to do something worthwhile with their own lives will see in mountaineering a metaphor for every great and risky enterprise.

Among the best mountaineering books of all time. A must read.

I started this book yesterday and stayed up until 3am to finish it. I admit I had not read it before, and I am completely sincere when I say its the best mountaineering book I've read. Fantastic writing. Great pacing. Great descriptions, an appropriate amount of introspection. Something tells me that if I'd read this book 20 years ago, I could have saved myself a lot of trouble.

I recently published my own climbing memoir, Beyond the Mountain, and have to say that I am in awe of how well Hornbein did putting together this amazing tale. As one who knows the difficulty of trying to put things down simply and honestly, my hat's off to Tom Hornbein.

Excellent Resource for ESL Teachers!

I was lucky enough to be in a situation where my adult ESL classroom had enough in-classroom copies for all students to use during classtime. I used this almost everyday. It's a fantastic way to teach new vocabulary, especially when you combine its use with other teaching tools, such as acting out motions. I often had my students use the books to quiz each other. This is a good resource, and if you can get enough copies for everyone in your class to share, DO IT!

Very helpful

I host foreign exchange students and the first few weeks this helps them out till they get just a better grasp of the English language. Most come with a very good understanding, but if they need to go to the doctor's or something this picture dictionary is just the thing to help out. It is useful around the house also.

This had great reviews, and I got it to help my adopted granddaughter learn English. She's 6 and from China. There was an overabundance of stuff on each page. It was hard to point to one item and say a word for it. A much simpler format would be better, I think. Went back to children's books. Disappointed.
